Product Information
Product Overview
A rotating table mechanism is a ball-bearing system that lets the surface mounted on it turn a full 360 degrees. Ball bearings seated between two metal plates keep the rotation quiet and effortless. It is used in tables, coffee tables, single armchairs and display units — anywhere the surface needs to change direction without moving the furniture itself.
Product Advantages
- Ball bearings deliver a full turn without catching or resistance.
- Available in the standard size or manufactured to your project dimensions.
- Galvanised or chrome coating protects against corrosion.
- Electrostatic powder coating strengthens the surface against scratching and moisture.
- Load capacity rises with size, so it also suits heavy tabletops.

Technical Drawings
These drawings are here to show how the mechanism works and how it goes together. They are not to scale, so please do not measure off them. The numbers on each drawing match the notes below it. If you need a dimensioned technical drawing for your own project, write to us and we will prepare one.
Top view and dimensions
- 1 Corner screw holes. They are slotted rather than round, so the mechanism still seats properly even if the holes in the furniture are a few millimetres out — no need to re-drill.
- 2 The channel the balls run in. The balls roll along this groove between the two plates; this is what makes the rotation quiet and effortless.
- 3 Centre hub. The mechanism turns around this point.
- 4 Screw holes in the upper plate. The surface that will rotate — a tabletop or a seat base — is fixed here.
- 5 Direction of rotation. The plate turns a full circle either way, without stopping.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much load does a swivel mechanism carry?
Capacity varies with the size of the plate and the ball race used, and it rises as the size increases. Rather than quoting a single published figure we prefer to learn the load in your project: send us your plate dimensions and the weight going on top, and we will determine the right size with you.
Can it be produced in custom sizes?
Yes. The standard size is 26 × 26 cm, and we manufacture other dimensions to suit the project.
Should I choose galvanised or chrome coating?
For dry indoor use, galvanised coating gives sufficient protection. In humid environments, or where the mechanism stays visible, chrome coating or electrostatic powder coating is preferred.
Are special tools needed for assembly?
No. It mounts with standard hand tools using the screw holes on the plates.
What size is the swivel mechanism produced in?
The standard size in the 2026 catalogue is 260 × 260 mm, installed with a four-point connection. We also manufacture other dimensions to suit the project.
