Product Information

Product Overview

A metal corner connector joins two panels or frame members at a 90-degree angle. Instead of concentrating the load on a single screw point it spreads it across a wide surface, reducing the risk of the corner opening up, working loose, or cracking the chipboard over time. It also holds the corner square during assembly.

Product Advantages 4 points
  • Fixes the 90-degree angle so the corner stays square during and after assembly.
  • Spreads the load across a wide surface, removing strain from any single screw point.
  • Multiple fixing points reduce the risk of loosening and cracking over time.
  • Installs with standard hand tools; no special equipment required.

Alligator Sectional Sofa Connector — Ratchet operating principle

Ratchet operating principle

  • 1 Ratchet teeth. Each tooth is one position the mechanism can hold; the number of teeth is the number of settings.
  • 2 Spring-loaded pawl. A small spring keeps the pawl pressed against the teeth — this is the part that holds when you let go.
  • 3 Lifting direction. Movement is free this way: the pawl slides over the sloped face of each tooth, which is where the clicking sound comes from.
  • 4 Load direction. Movement locks this way: the pawl bears against the straight face of the tooth and cannot slip back.
  • 5 Once you pass the last tooth the pawl releases and the mechanism drops back to its starting position on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions 4 questions
Why is a corner connector needed?

In screw-only corner joints the load concentrates at one point; over time the screw hole widens, the corner opens and the chipboard cracks. A corner connector spreads that load over a wide surface and prevents it.

Which materials can it be used with?

Solid wood, chipboard and MDF panels. Choosing a screw matched to the panel thickness directly affects joint strength.

Does repeated disassembly weaken the joint?

Reusing the same screw holes repeatedly widens them. In modular systems, avoid reusing identical holes at every assembly and consider insert nuts where appropriate.

What material is the corner connector made from?

It is made of steel with an electrostatic coating. We can also manufacture in different sizes, materials and surface treatments.
