Product Information

Product Overview

CSS Luxury is the top-segment member of the CSS seat mechanism family. The differences across the family come down to material grade, surface finish and quietness in operation, and CSS Luxury targets the highest level in all three. It is chosen for showroom and bespoke design projects where visible quality and silent operation matter most.

Product Advantages 4 points
  • The highest material and surface-finish level within the family.
  • Quiet operation, with metallic noise and squeaking kept to a minimum.
  • Suited to upper-segment projects where visible quality matters.
  • Shares assembly logic with the rest of the CSS family, so production lines need no changes.

These drawings are here to show how the mechanism works and how it goes together. They are not to scale, so please do not measure off them. The numbers on each drawing match the notes below it. If you need a dimensioned technical drawing for your own project, write to us and we will prepare one.

Kit contents — what is in the box

  • 1 Link plate. Flat steel with three holes and rounded ends; this is the main part that carries the opening and closing movement.
  • 2 Long mounting screw. Fixes the link plate to the wooden frame of the seat.
  • 3 Short bolt. Used at the pivot — the point the link plate turns around.
  • 4 Short stud. A short pin that keeps two parts aligned.
  • 5 Corner cover plate. Pressed sheet with three holes; it closes off the joint and spreads the load over a wider area.
  • 6 Nut-welded mounting plate. The hex nuts are welded on, so the bolt threads straight into them — you do not have to hold a nut in place while assembling.

Frequently Asked Questions 4 questions
What is the difference between CSS Lux and CSS 4?

Both belong to the same family and share assembly logic. The difference lies in material grade, surface finish and quietness: CSS Lux is the upper segment, while CSS 4 balances cost and performance for general use.

When should CSS Lux be chosen?

In projects where the sound and feel of the mechanism are noticed, where the product is demonstrated often, or where it is positioned in the upper segment.

What material is CSS Lux made from?

The standard set is made of steel with an electrostatic coating. We also manufacture in different sizes, materials and surface treatments to suit your requirements.

Is the luxury type suitable where it stays visible?

Its electrostatically coated surface gives a clean appearance, but the mechanism is designed to sit inside the frame. If it will remain visible, it is best to discuss the surface treatment up front.
