A sofa backrest adjustment mechanism moves the back section of sofas and armchairs forward and backward to change the seat depth; in the trade it is also known as a back pull mechanism. Scissor arms on each side connect the back to the frame and two steel tubes join the left and right units: pulled forward by hand, the back moves to the sitting position, and pushed back, it moves to the relaxing position that deepens the seat, resting in one of these two end positions. The set sits under the upholstery and does not change the outward look of the furniture.
