Midi body: springless or spring-assisted
The two medium (midi) body types suit one and two-seat sofas and narrow frames; both fit directly into the frames used for large click-clack mechanisms and give the sofa zero-wall opening. What sets them apart is the spring: in the springless type opening and closing are done entirely by the user and there are fewer parts; in the spring-assisted type a spring in the body helps as it is raised, noticeably reducing the effort needed for heavy backrests and thickly padded sofas. If the backrest is light, the springless type is enough.
