Product Information
Product Overview
The large armless click-clack mechanism is the version of the wide-bodied click-clack mechanism without a side arm. Instead of the arm, the load is carried directly by the sofa frame, which lets the mechanism fit into a narrower volume and frees up space at the sides of the body. In three-seat and larger sofas it forms the bed position by sliding the seat forward and lowering the back.
Product Advantages
- With no side arm it takes no space at the sides of the body and fits inside a narrow frame.
- The wide body distributes load more evenly across long seats.
- Spring-assisted lifting reduces the opening effort with heavy backrests.
- The perforated plate structure makes it easier to find mounting points on different frames.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the armless type carry less load?
Capacity depends less on the presence of a side arm than on the body size of the mechanism and how many points it is fixed to the frame at. In the armless type the sofa frame takes part of the load, so it matters that the frame is solid and that the mechanism is fixed at all of its screw points.
Should I choose armless or armed?
If space at the sides of the body is limited, or the arm section of the sofa leaves no room for the mechanism, the armless type is preferred. If the frame is too light to carry the load on its own, the armed type is more suitable.
How are the mounting points set on the armless type?
The rows of holes on the plates allow connection on frames of different dimensions. Even so, sharing your frame measurements is the safest route, so we can confirm up front that the hole pattern suits your project.
What material is the large armless click-clack mechanism made from?
The body is made of steel, protected with an electrostatic coating. Carrying no arm, it takes up less room in the side frame; we also manufacture with other materials and surface treatments.
