The armless Meltem mechanism is the version of the slim-bodied opening sofa mechanism without a side arm. When the seat is raised the backrest lowers and the bed surface is formed. Thanks to its flat body it takes very little space under the seat, and it is preferred in slim-profile sofas where upholstery thickness is reduced.
