Product Information
Product Overview
The narrow-arm bed base mechanism is a scissor-arm system that raises the lid of an ottoman storage bed. Because the arms are set closer together, the mechanism takes less space inside the base and eats less into the storage volume. It is preferred in single and smaller bed bases.
Product Advantages
- The narrow arm spacing takes little room inside the base, preserving storage volume.
- Fits easily into single and smaller bed bases.
- Its scissor structure raises the lid along a smooth arc.
- The perforated arm profile offers fixing points at different bed base heights.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the narrow-arm type lift a heavy lid?
Lifting capacity depends less on whether the arm is narrow or wide than on the size of the mechanism and any gas spring support. On very wide lids, however, narrow arm spacing concentrates the load in a small area and the lid may flex more; in that case the wide-arm type is more suitable.
Can it be used together with a gas spring?
Yes. The gas spring assists the lift of the lid and slows its descent. Using both on heavy lids reduces the opening effort and stops the lid slamming shut.
Is the narrow-arm type only for single bed bases?
It is used mainly in single and narrow bases. Because the arm opening is small, it fits comfortably into frames with limited side clearance.
Are two mechanisms fitted together?
Yes — bed base mechanisms are fitted symmetrically on both sides of the lid. Mounting on one side only twists the lid and strains the hinge line.
What material is the narrow-arm bed base mechanism made from?
The body and arms are made of steel, protected with an electrostatic coating. Different sizes, materials and surface treatments can also be produced.
