Product Information
Product Overview
The small storage spring is an extension spring that helps the user raise the lid of a storage mechanism. It hooks at both ends onto the mechanism body and the lid arm; it is stretched while the lid is closed and returns that tension as the lid opens, taking on part of the lifting force. It is produced at different tensions according to the weight of the lid.
Product Advantages
- Takes on part of the force needed to raise the lid.
- Fits with hooks at both ends, requiring no welding or drilling.
- If it wears, it can be replaced on its own without removing the mechanism.
- Can be produced at different tensions to match the lid weight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use a spring or a gas spring?
On light lids a spring is sufficient and more economical. On heavy lids a gas spring both assists the lift and slows the descent, stopping the lid from slamming. Tell us your lid weight and we can determine the right solution together.
Does the spring slacken over time?
As long as it works within the extension range it was designed for, it holds its force for a long time. What actually shortens its life is being constantly strained by a lid heavier than it can carry; in that case a higher-tension spring or a gas spring is needed.
Which mechanisms is the spring used with?
It is the assisting component of storage and corner mechanisms, supporting the lid as it rises. It is not a mechanism on its own but a part that completes the force of the existing one.
Does the lid feel lighter once the spring is fitted?
Yes — the spring takes on part of the force needed at the moment of lifting, and the difference becomes more noticeable as the lid gets heavier.
What material is the spring made from?
The spring is made of steel. We can manufacture in different sizes and surface treatments to suit your requirements.
